Untitled: Lericevi II

INTRO: This is the second chapter to Lericevi. It does not have a name...yet. I'm going to refer to it as Lericevi II. But since it's not official and I should not be working on it more until I have completed other things, it will have to stay that way. I still cannot remember what gave me the idea for this, it's really bothering me, lol...oh well. I hope you will enjoy it anyway.

UNTITLED: LERICEVI II

Lericevi’s eyes shot open, a gasp escaped her as she gripped tightly to the chair arms. She could not let go of what happened, it haunted her dreams, tormenting her. The one thing she regretted most. The only incident that caused her to hate what she was. All the others she could forget. Lericevi had chosen them as wisely as she could. No one would miss them, no one would care to where they had disappeared.
Her other side was still infantile then. Putting it’s needs above her dying human heart. She had no control over the hunger that held her captive, and no authority could keep her sister from loving the creature she had become. Lericevi was still Sariarie’s favorite…

'She came to me, in the night. When I should have been feeding, but I could not stop thinking about my mothers tears, and fathers harsh words. The human body I once knew was dying…I could feel it. But I kept denying its need. She came too close, too close. I should have stopped her, but what would she have thought of me then? I should have trusted my new instincts, not my fading soul. It hung by an ever weakening thread. Nothing I did was right anymore, I had no one. They were frightened of me. Their daughter, friend, sister. They would not even look at me, no one except Sariarie. She still kept me in her favor. Though, I had always been her beloved sister, and I suppose that bond had not been broken.
She spoke sweetly to me, as she always did, as if nothing had changed between us. Though I could not hear her words, not over the din of my hunger. I wish now that I could have. Her voice is all I hear, but I cannot make out the words! Why didn’t I walk away! Right then, you stupid creature! You knew what would happen, you knew!'

She came back to her cottage, it laughed at her pain. Entangling her fists in long golden hair, she could no longer hold back the tears. As hard as she tried Lericevi could not push that memory away. The events that followed flashed over and over through her mind until she could bare it no longer.
A scream burst through the walls, past the field and into the forest. Birds fled the trees, deer bolted for safety, and nothing in the once busy woodland moved. Humans however, for whatever reason are drawn to such a disturbance. Sounds that clearly say, ‘keep away’.

Lericevi rose, as the hushed laughter persisted. This place was a prison. She was unable to leave, but did not want to stay. Although Lericevi could not imagine leaving the only part of her family she had left. Where would she go anyway? She knew nothing but this cottage now, and the woods that kept her safe. These thoughts passed through her as she paced the decaying floorboards.

"I will tear you down myself if you do not stop your constant bleeding of me. I will abandon this place. Then you will be the one alone, and the trees from whence you came will laugh at your pathetic form. You are the one truly stuck here, and your ancestors still live beside you. They will forever remind you of the terror once held within your beams. Do not test me."

No human would be in tune enough to notice, but with these words, the house went silent. Afraid of her vicious nature, and that her plans would become truth. It said nothing more of what was coming, knowing Lericevi would not listen if it did.

She moved through the rooms, easing her mind with pleasant memories. The first twenty years of her life with family and friends she once had. It was hard for her not to counteract a good memory with a bad, but she eventually succeeded, returning to her chair in peace. However, it was short lived as she detected human presence, a male…two males…and a female.
Lericevi went to secure the door. If the light of day was to pass over the threshold, it would be her death. She had thought many times of walking into the sun, just to end this tormented life. The fear of pain kept her from it though. Fear kept her from many things.
She slid down the doors length, sitting against the floor. Their voices could be heard now, even louder were their heartbeats. The young man was bold in his movements, but his pulse was not so assertive. He was nervous. The young woman’s heart beat was loud and rapid, she was afraid. Could she sense what lurked inside? Lericevi smiled at the thought. Then it faded when she came to the last beat. It was unmoved, he was not scared, nor excited. Not even curious. Did he know? The thought of competition came and went. For Lericevi, and others like her…there was no beat of life in their breast.

The first man tried the door, “it’s locked.”

“Locked?” questioned the woman, “That’s strange.”

He tried to force it, jerking it roughly back and forth. Lericevi pushed tightly against it, pleading the house to hold up, to do her this one favor. The third being had not said one word since approaching. His stillness was more unnerving then their disrespect for things of the past. That which did not belong to them.

“I don’t think you should do that Kale. Someone might live here.”

“Oh please Michael, no one lives here.” Laughed the negligent named Kale.

“It looks like it will fall down any minute. No one in their right mind would stay here.” The girl said to the one called Michael.

“That’s a better reason not to go inside. If it fell and we got hurt, no one would find us out here.”

“Try it again Kale, it looks like you loosened it a bit.”

“I don’t know Mora. I agree with Michael on this one.”

There was a short silence, and a sigh of withdrawal escaped the young woman. The man Kale moved away, and she followed. Lericevi knew of such love once, and what a mistake it was to have imprisoned herself in such devotion. Although, she remembered it, and smiled with the fond memory of her lost Vanin. He was still somewhat apart of her…

'Vanin’s smile made the noon day brighter. We were together as often as we could be. I remember those days, beams of light through the trees in the early morning. The glowing green of the forest at noon. Perfection of pure light in the evening. Nothing but a memory now…though, better then nothing at all. Then, one day Vanin came to me, telling of his sudden departure to work for a powerful Lord in his manor. His family, having only one son, was poor from lack of help. This sort of work would provide them with a means to live.
Vanin did not return to me for a long while, and when he did…everything changed. Our part of the county was shunned and isolated. Our families, Vanin’s and my own…they were never the same. Though the Drosamore name died with Vanin, he gained an immortal life in one way, though unknown…with me. His blood had rushed into my veins in the transformation…and in some ways, he lives through me…once in a while, I can hear his voice. Calling my name and urging me to be strong. To continue what he could not…I only wish I knew what that was.'

Loosing your grip? On what and why, lol. This was just an idea. It will probably never be finished, and no it is not from Trevet. You know, sometimes you have to take a break from your normal thing to refresh yourself. It does work, for me anyway. So don't get angry or anything with my other ideas. That's all they are until Trevet is finished.

Trevet is doing good though. I plan to do an update on here soon. With number of chapters, page numbers, and word count thus far.
